If you’ve been using the same style square every day for years, day in and day out, the upgrade is worth it. It will not magically make you a better carpenter, you still have to not be a dumbass. It’s not the reinvention of the wheel, but there isn’t too much wasted space on the square. If you want to die on your hill with your 12$ Johnny square, there’s zero shame in that. After using these for a couple weeks now in my opinion they are just flat out better.

Sven, I’m so glad I shifted from the old standards to these. The scribe lines are super accurate with a pica dry. This was my first square with a 1/2” heel, and I use the ruler on that way more than I thought I would. As a finish carpenter, there are countless times when I need my small measurements to be quick and accurate. It’s nice to just pull the Fusion out, especially if I’m like butting into a flat surface or a long or short point of an Angle. I have other high end vintage brass bound rules for those measurements, but I’ve been throwing the Fusion in the mix, and it’s rad. I think I’m gonna order one of the ³⁄₁₆” heels for the Micro just so I can have both heels options for both squares. Super sick to see the evolution of the tools in the past 10 years. Is there a way to wrap the numbers down on the bottom of the heel as well?
