What is the blemishes and what are the defects?

Solid question! I just uploaded two picutes of the most common defect or less then this.
Are the the defects just aesthetics? Or is there something wrong with the square?

Take a look at the pictures I uploaded. This was the most extreme on I could find of the common blemish.

An Excellent Tool.

So far, I am very impressed with the SquiJig ProSquare. I like the accuracy of it and I very much appreciate the large and clear markings and numerals. For these aging eyes, it's very easy to work with. I had ordered one of the blemished units, but for the life of me, I cannot see any defect at all in the quality and consistency of the finish for this tool. I am very impressed and I appreciate this company.
